Natural Weight Loss
Stubborn Taste Buds
Some of the most stubborn people have had success with retraining their taste buds.
For example, Cindy came to us when every diet, exercise plan, and supplement failed her.
She’d been skinny when she was in her early 20s, but after having 3 kids and juggling a career and a struggling marriage, she found the pounds piling on as she cooked for convenience and comfort.
After 2 decades of eating the Standard American Diet of processed foods, her taste buds had become toxic.
(Is it a coincidence the acronym for Standard American Diet is S.A.D.?)
Cindy had read books on weight loss and had studied what she should eat, but when it came down to making the right menu choice or cooking the healthy option, her willpower disappeared and was replaced by heavy guilt immediately following her meal.
“Next time I’ll make a healthy meal,” she’d tell herself.
But next time never came.
“I just can’t enjoy eating a plate of veggies or chicken breast, even though I know I should,” she told us.
“I’ve eaten the same way since I was a kid, so I don’t know if I could ever LIKE eating like you do!”
She looked powerless and hopeless as she explained to us she wished she liked salads, vegetables, and lean meats.
We put her on the protocol you’ll read about in the next several posts and started to train her taste to trim her waist.
She took to it immediately because of how gradual it is and how she can baby-step her way to better health.
On day 8, after losing several pounds, she came to us, and with tears in her eyes said, “For the first time in my life I’m actually CRAVING vegetables.
I can’t explain it, but I can feel myself changing.”
Two weeks later she was regularly cooking and ordering what she’s supposed to eat – food that nourishes her from the inside out and melts fat off her hips, thighs, and waist.
She was losing dress sizes, fat, and weight.
But she was gaining something even bigger: control.
And it wasn’t a hard or heavy-disciplined control forcing you to do something you don’t want to do.
It was like being in charge of her life.
Her cravings for sugar, sweets, and fats subsided, and her taste buds welcomed the meals that made her sexy again.
Cindy’s a brand-new woman with a body she hasn’t had since her early 20s.
She can still enjoy eating what she used to, but relishes them as a treat on special occasions.
She credits this training protocol as the missing link to making her diet work.
