Take Back Your Metabolism
I’m reading a new book by Jillian Michaels called “Master Your Metabolism”.
I’ll be sharing this with you over the next several posts.
We all know that fad diets are a thing of the past, and that the no-carb, no-fat crazes of the ’80s and ’90s are scientific laughingstocks and pop-culture dinosaurs.

Hormones control almost every aspect of how we gain weight – and how we can lose it.

Or, “This isn’t for me – I’m 20 years away from menopause.”
That’s what I thought, too!
What could my weight possibly have to do with my hormones?
But guess what: Whether you’re a gal or a guy, whether you’re young or old, your weight has everything to do with your hormones.
Whether you want to lose the freshman fifteen, the post-baby belly, or the beer gut, your hormones determine whether you’ll succeed or fail.
And right this minute, your hormones – and by definition your metabolism – are being set up to fail.
Without you even knowing it, your hormones have been hijacked by toxin-filled, nutritionally deficient, stress-dominated systems – endocrine disruptors – that cause obesity and disease.
These systems hide in surprising places, but they ultimately disrupt our hormone function and cause hormone imbalances – in all of us.
