Do you think doing hundreds of sit ups and long hours of cardio in the gym is the key to a flat stomach and 6-pack abs?
You can do every imaginable exercise, but it’s all worthless until you’re eating correctly.
If you’re like many people, you think as long as you work out hard, you can probably eat whatever you want.
For athletes that might be true.
For others though, it’s a different story.
Most people don’t have enough hours in the day to work off all the calories they pour into their bodies every day.
Did you know our bodies respond much better and more quickly to food than they do to exercise?
It’s been said 80% of your success is determined by your diet (we think it’s more than that).
As important as both of them are, it’s the food we put in our body that determines the main shape of our body.
And contrary to popular belief, all calories aren’t created equal.
Fat calories, protein calories, and carbohydrate calories cause our bodies to react differently.
But even more dramatic is the difference between whole, nourishing foods (like meats and vegetables) and processed foods (like 90% of the grocery store) in the way our body metabolizes them and uses them for fuel or for fat.
If you drove a sports car, would you put the cheapest gas in it?
Some people do.
It’s kind of like the guy who drives a brand new BMW M5, which costs more than some people’s houses.
The car handles extremely well and many consider it the ultimate driving machine.
Then, when the driver stops for gas at the convenience store and comes out with a Big Gulp of soda and bag of chips he turns around and fills the tank with 93 octane gas.
You wonder, “Why do you put the most expensive gas in your tank, even with gas prices so high?”
The answer is as you may expect – “When you own the ‘Ultimate Driving Machine’ you gotta take care of it – even if it costs a little more.”
It’s too bad the driver doesn’t see his own body as an ultimate machine.
If he did, he’d be drinking a bottle of water instead of the chemical soup he calls soda.
We find it very rewarding to help those who’ve already decided their lives are worth it, and who believe their bodies are the Ultimate Living Machines.
